A letter from the Doctor
I would like to take a moment of your time to inform you about the services
that I am providing in the Seattle area. I am currently working out of offices
in the downtown and Seward Park Area. I am now accepting new clients for individual
therapy, family therapy, and consultation services.
My practice specialty is providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents and young adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety or behavioral concerns. I am also available to provide individual therapy for adults in all stages of life as well as family therapy and couples counseling. Having been trained as a Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) coach I am available to provide these services to parents as well. In addition, I have a long-standing interest in working with clients from diverse backgrounds and those affected by the foster care system.
I completed my postdoctoral clinical fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. My work with Children’s was predominantly centered at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic. While there, I provided individual, family and group therapy, and served as a member of a multidisciplinary team. I received my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
My practice also extends to providing consultation services to schools and daycare providers. I am available to provide training and interventions to facilitate improved interactions with children who are experiencing a variety of disorders. Consultation is also available to parents of children with learning disabilities, developmental problems, or other special needs. Strategies and techniques can be provided to assist parents in improving their children’s academic, emotional and social functioning.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss any questions you may have. Finally, please let me know if you would like brochures to be sent to you.
Sincerely,
Jamila M Brown, PsyD
